Defeat is not an option

I think it is time to reevaluate my running life. I have been having a really hard time getting through my short runs. Today was a 5K run day and well i made it through a whole 1.25 miles before the cramps in my legs and the stabbing pain in my right foot hurt so bad I couldn't stand it any more. I did however finish the 5K distance I just did a lot more walking than I had planned.

So for me I think this mean my long runs need to be shorter and my shorter runs need to be shorter. Which really means my long runs will be in the 5K range and my short runs will be around 1.5 to 2 miles. This is only for a few weeks. I don't think I let my body catch up to my brain when I got back from London. When I got back I hit the ground running and running far I did 6.2 miles on my first long run back. I know I accomplished this only because I had something prove to myself and now it is time to get my act together if I really want to run the 15K in November.

Here we go training starts again from the ground up!!! Defeat is not an option!!!!

How is everyone else doing?????

  1. That sounds horrible to have cramping legs and shooting pains! Ouch. You're smart to run and scale back. I'm on the short run every other day plan for a while to see how things go.

    1. Best of luck! Pulling back is sometimes best keep the muscles loose and working but not over using them.
